CenterPointe
My current practice is one focused on balance, strength, alignment, and playfulness.
Yoga found me in early 2007. My first class was a community yoga class at a law firm offered by an attorney who had just completed her yoga teacher training. In those 60 minutes I was given a small glimpse into the exciting potential of learning a new physical language.
After practicing within many different traditions, I ultimately found my home within the direct lineages of Sri. T. Krishnamacharya, specifically Vinyasa Krama, Iyengar, Svastha and Ashtanga. From these traditions, I've learned and work to share the beauty and depth of working with breath and the therapeutic and strength benefits of proper alignment. In all of these traditions, the complexity of fundamental postures are explored prior to moving forward. Having studied with senior teachers in the Vinyasa Krama, Ashtanga and Iyengar traditions, and most recently the Svatha tradition, my current practice and teaching is one focused on breath, strength, and alignment.
When I teach, I offer my students opportunities to reach deeper dimensions in their training, balancing the yogic principles of sithra and sukha – strength and ease – through dynamic oppositions. With consistent practice, my yoga classes will allow CenterPointe athletes to reach their physical training goals, including improvements in mobility and flexibility, along with an introduction to the positive effects of meditation.
